“The simpleton believes every word he hears, but the prudent man looks and considers well where he is going.”
Proverbs 14:15 AMP
Which are you? Are you the simple minded person who believes everything someone tells you? Or are you the person who considers carefully what you have heard and seek to find your own understanding?
It is imperative that we are not letting the world tell us who we are, what we should be doing and where we’re going. Often times we can find ourselves making decisions based off of what others have said or what they’ve experienced. Sometimes we let others make decisions for us altogether because we’re afraid to make the wrong one. I think more times than not woman can find themselves in this very predicament. It may not be the other people guiding the relationship but rather your desire to be with the other person that you overlook where the relationship could actually be going.
You see, we haven’t considered or sought God on a lot of these decisions and we’ve let the insights of the world and people who don’t know God themselves give us a “revelation” about our own lives. Yes, it’s okay to seek guidance from your spiritual leaders but when do you take it upon yourself to seek God for the way in which he has set in place for you.
Today, be sure to consider all things in its purpose and its benefit to your life. Can it or they go where you’re going? What has the Lord told you?
